Syllabus for First Term -51 periods
1. Set (3 periods) : Types of sets (empty set, unit set, finite set , infinite set)
2. Arithmetic (14 periods): a. Real numbers i. Whole numbers (divisibility test by 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 and 11 and HCF and LCM)
3. Mensuration (5 periods): a. Perimeter, area and volume i. perimeter of a trianngular shape, rectangle, square and circle and value of pi.
4. Algebra (12 periods): a. laws of indices (product law of indices, quotient law of indices, power law of indices and law of zero index) b. simplification on law of indices c. Algebraic Expression
5. i. multiplication of binomial and trinomial expressions by binomial exprassions d. geometrical interpretation of formation and use of (a+b)2 and (a-b)2
5. Geometry (14 periods): a. drawing special angles using compasses 15 and 165, 75 and 105, 45 and 135 and 30 and 150 b. meaning and properties of different pair of angles (linear pair, vertically opposite angles complementary angles supplementary angles)
Note: 9 periods are for the basic concepts which they need to learn in Mathematics.
